New Research Project with “Ecole des sciences criminelles” at University of Lausanne

Launch of a new research project aiming at the development of a simulation game for the course “Investigation of the Crime Scene” at the University of Lausanne. This project is funded by the Fund for Pedagogical Innovation (FIP). The first version of the simulation should be operational at end of 2012.
A specific training session for Merk Serono

AlbaSIM was used for a training program at Merk Serono Supply Chain Academy. For this program, we developed a specific scenario based on actual data and focusing on the project initiation phase.
"AlbaSIM Project Management Simulation was a key contribution to the success of our SC Academy. A specific simulation scenario was developed for one of our case studies, thus making it more challenging and interactive. The simulation was used by different groups during the training session and we were quite impressed by the results of the groupwork as well as the originality of the groups' proposals and presentations."

Team is growing: S. Roth

Steffen Roth recently joined the AlbaSIM team. Sociologist by origin, he holds a PhD in innovation management from the Chemnitz University of Technology and pursues another PhD in organizational sociology at the University of Geneva. Steffen will contribute to the design of new games, to the development of international versions of yet existing games and to research at the interface of serious games and innovation management.
AlbaSIM in Rome: ITAIS conference

AlbaSIM invited to educational seminar

The University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO) is organizing a workshop on teaching with simulations.
AlbaSIM is invited to present their project management simulation as well as its various fields of application (problem based learning, lectures, seminars, etc).
New team member : F-X Aeberhard

François-Xavier Aeberhard join the team. After his Master in Computer Science at EPFL, François-Xavier worked at Siemens Corporate Research (Princeton) and as User Interface Engineer at Ubisoft (Video Game Development). François-Xavier is also an independent web designer.
He will work on the development of new simulations and on the new project WEGAS (Web Game Authoring System).
AlbaSIM at HEC Lausanne

Pilot experiments in playing the AlbaSIM Project Management Simulation with more than 100 students of Bachelor courses on project management are currently conducted in collaboration with the School of Business at the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne).
Students evaluated the simulation very positively. AlbaSIM will thus be reused for both bachelor and master courses at HEC Lausanne next year.
